Dortha L. Hise

Dortha HiseDortha is passionate about helping women. She was born and raised in California. She graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in1998 and received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2003 from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She has been a strong proponent for women in receiving treatment for Breast Cancer and has walked in the Sacramento American Cancer SocietyMaking Strides walk since 2006. Dortha has also partnered with the Domestic Violence Intervention Center in Sacramento to raise funds and public awareness of individuals in situations of domestic violence. Dortha volunteered as a rape crisis counselor in Las Vegas as a victim’s advocate. She and her husband, Jason, coordinated a medical screening clinic in 2009 to benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children and had a total of 40 families attend, which was a huge success. Dortha is currently committed to raising $1,800 for cancer research and will walk 39 miles in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in July 2010 in San Francisco. She is walking to honor the memory of her friend Laney, who passed away this past January after losing her battle to breast cancer. Maria Vinci Benenati, MBA, MDiv

Maria VinciMaria Vinci Benenati is a Healthcare Consultant at Kaiser Permanente and an Entrepreneur. She consults regularly with physicians, executives and Renal Case Managers from a variety of Healthcare areas; specializing in the End Stage Renal Disease patient population. Maria is skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously to help create synergistic solutions to complex Healthcare problems. She is the CEO of Language Toys, an internet retail store focusing on toys in multiple languages.

Raised in Southern California, Maria now lives with her four year old daughter, and her mother, in Northern California. Her mother helps greatly in raising her granddaughter since Maria became widowed. Maria has been honored with an award for her continued support of the Italian American Community Services Agency of San Francisco. This fall, she will be serving as a Sunday school teacher, where she will teach religious education classes to four year olds to assist in their faith formation.
