HOW WE GOT STARTED

On an ordinary Saturday a group of women gathered in San Francisco for afternoon tea. The hostess mentioned The Nepalese Youth Foundation, an organization that takes girls out of servitude and educates them for a year for a mere $100.00. She suggested that the women assembled might want to all chip in and rescue a girl.

Caterina Rando the founder of A Good Deed Tea was instantly filled with enthusiasm and proclaimed “I come for tea, I enjoy some friendship and camaraderie with inspiring women, I enjoy homemade scones, strawberry jam and delicious finger sandwiches and by the time I go home I have contributed to changing a girls life forever. I am in-count me in!”

Caterina and Valerie Camarda, A Good Deed Tea board member drove home together from that auspicious afternoon tea. They both proudly and joyfully acknowledged that they had done their good deed for the day. The ideas for what was possible began to brew. By the time they reached home A Good Deed Tea was born. Valerie shortly thereafter hosted the first Good Deed Tea.

The idea for A Good Deed Tea is that women love to get together, converse, share ideas, network and have fun. Sometimes modern life does not offer enough opportunity for this social pleasure. Having A Good Deed Tea event allows women to do what they love to do while uplifting the lives of women around the world. What could be better?

We welcome and appreciate your support. Take a look and see what we are up to and if you are interested, we invite you to get involved. You are fortunate, educated, and live in a stable country.
